Ball, Richard E.
Richard E. Ball, 73, of Tiffin, died Saturday, March 3, 2012, at Country View Manor in North Liberty. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Coralville. The Rev. Walter Helms will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lensing Funeral Service, Iowa City, with a parish wake service beginning at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be private in St. Peter's Cemetery in Cosgrove, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The Tiffin Fire Department/First Responders or Country View Manor in North Liberty.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Patricia; children, Pam Loan (Richard) of Iowa City, Chris Hennes (Terry) of Farmington, Mo., Caroline Dolder (Brent) of Iowa City, Sherri Marine (Leonard) of North Liberty, and Rick Ball of Tiffin; brothers, Ivan Ball of Dinondale, Mich., Bill Ball (Bonnie) of Tiffin, and Jim Ball of Hills; sisters, Virginia Bross of Iowa City, and Mary Ann Waldschmidt (Ronnie) of Iowa City; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Ball and Mary (Meade) Ball; a sister, Susanne Ball; brother, Gene Ball and a granddaughter, Hannah Hennes.
