Marguerite C. Kuebrich, 106, died peacefully Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at the Solon Care Center. Mass of Christian Burial with be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 9, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Father John Spiegel officiating. A brunch will follow after the Mass. Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery, Cosgrove. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City, where a rosary will be recited by the Catholic Daughters and Foresters at 4:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Regina Foundation, St. Mary's Church or Iowa City Hospice.
Marguerite was born Aug. 27, 1908, in Cosgrove, the daughter of Jacob and Jane Bradley Kuebrich. She was a graduate of Cosgrove High School and had been employed for many years at Paris Cleaners.
Marguerite was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the National Catholic Society of Foresters.
Survivors include 12 nieces and nephews, James (Diana) Wagner, Kay (Gabriel) Verstraete, Sister Joann Kuebrich, Delores Kuebrich, Dorothy Feeney, Marilyn Boyd, Jayne (William) Kelly, William Kuebrich, Leo (Julie) Krell, Robert (Kathy) Krell, Patricia (Dennis) Gaulocher and Lisa (Mark) Grenko; and numerous great- nieces, great-nephews and extended family.
Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings, W.P. (William), the Rev. L.V. (Leo), Stella, Mary Wagner (Marguerite's twin), and Genevieve Krell.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the exceptional care provided to Marguerite by Dr. Craig Champion, the Solon Care Center staff, Iowa City Hospice and her many devoted friends from St. Mary's.
