Rohret, Harold 'Bud'
Harold “Bud” Rohret, 91, of Cosgrove, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at Alverno Nursing Home, Clinton. A Memorial Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Cosgrove. Burial will be in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time Friday at the church. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Harold Francis Rohret was born March 7, 1918, in rural Johnson County, Iowa, the son of Frank and Adelaide (McGinnis) Rohret. He married Lillian Lynch on Feb. 9, 1944, in Iowa City. She died July 26, 2006. Bud was a graduate of Cosgrove High School and farmed his entire life there. Bud was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Cosgrove, member of Bishop James Davis Knights of Columbus Council 12910, and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Cub fan.
Bud is survived by three sons, Ed (Georgia) Rohret of Iowa City, Patrick (Maureen) Rohret of Adel and Frank (Judy) Rohret of Cosgrove; two daughters, Joyce (Greg) Livingston of Estes Park, Colo., and Jane (Robert) Alt of Clinton; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Memorials can be made to the St. Peter's Cemetery.
