Violet G. Peterson was born July 24, 1917, in rural Johnson County, the daughter of Andrew and Christiana (Miller) Peterson. On June 2, 1951, she married Harry Salisbury in Casper, Wyo., and spent several years farming in South Dakota. In 1958, they moved back to Iowa to be near Vi's family. Vi worked several jobs in the area, starting with Paris Cleaners, working at the Hamburg Inn, Sheller-Globe and ultimately retiring from Dairy Queen. After retirement, Vi loved daily visits to the thrift stores and garage sales. She always enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with family. She had a close relationship with her local granddaughters, Shannon and Melissa, and left many lifelong memories for them to cherish.
