Dean, Marion Lois
Marion Lois Dean, 90, of Marion, died Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Services: Noon Thursday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. Thursday until service time at the funeral home. Burial: Oakland Cemetery, Manchester, Iowa.
Survivors include her sons, Charles L. Dean of Warner-Robins, Ga., and Michael L. (Maureen Mugan) Dean of Marion; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four sisters and five brothers.
Marion was born August 16, 1919, the daughter of Adam and Maude (Peyton) Hilsenbeck, in Manchester, Iowa. She graduated from Manchester High School in 1936, and married Charles H. Dean in 1942 in Kahoka, Mo. He died in 1979.
Marion will be remembered for her devotion to caring for over 50 graves in the Manchester area for many, many years. She loved birds, flower, and also gardening
