Kepler Sr., James D.
James D. Kepler Sr., 65, of 212 Austin St. SW, Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, June 26, 2010, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 29, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, by the Rev. Mark Reasoner. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial: St. Mary's Cemetery, Urbana.
Survivors include his wife, Janet; three children, James Kepler Jr. of Falcon, Mo., Jody Ginther of North Liberty and Julie (Doug) Bluhm of Waverly; siblings, David (Betty) Kepler of Mound View, Minn., Nancy (Larry) Adair of Palo and Patty (Steve) Fisher of Garrison; stepbrother, Randy Schultz; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Elizabeth Kepler; siblings, Gary Kepler, Phyllis Parbs and Sandy Morgan; and his niece, Lisa Neal.
Born March 8, 1945, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, James was the son of Maxwell and Lenora (Kramer) Kepler. On May 29, 1965, he was united in marriage to Janet Neal. James worked for Nissen Trampoline, retiring in 1998.
James was active in the Boy Scouts, serving on the council and as a troop leader.
