Gibbs, James Douglas
James Douglas Gibbs, 64, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, October 27, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Per his wishes his body will be cremated and no services will be held. Arrangements by: Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Doris Gibbs; and infant sister.
James was born on February 3, 1948, in Lansing, Iowa, son, Chester and Doris (Burger) Gibbs. He graduated from St. George in Lansing, in 1966, and got a BA at the University of Wisconsin in LaCrosse in 1970. James got his masters in Math and Physics' in 1972. James married Sharon Allen on February 3, 1973, in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. He taught Physics' at Jefferson High School from 1972-2006 when he retired. James enjoyed music and was very well known as a teacher.
