Madge Madaline Lenz, 85, died Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 3, at West Liberty Community Center, 1204 N. Calhoun St., West Liberty. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty.
Memorials may be made to Iowa City Hospice or Camp Courageous in Monticello.
The Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty is in charge of arrangements.

Madge was born Aug. 23, 1928, in Monticello, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Mattie Nederhouser Schneiter. She grew up in Delaware County and attended country school. She was a grad-uate of Monticello High School. On July 11, 1971, she was united in marriage to Ivan Lenz at Peace United Church of Christ in Monticello.
She was a member of the Nichols United Methodist Church and UMW. She taught Sunday school and played the piano for many years in Monticello. She was a member of the South Prairie Social Club for many years. She helped on the farm until she and Ivan retired in December 2003.
She is survived by her husband, Ivan of West Liberty; nieces, Connie Edwards of Monticello, Colleen and Corrine Schneiter of Hiawatha and Colette Knoll of Stanwood; and nephew, Calvin Schneiter of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by brothers- and sisters-in-law, Leonard and Darlene Lenz of West Liberty, Elmo and Virginia Kron of Riverside and Clarence and Darlene Lenz of Lone Tree.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Guy and Howard.
