Henderson, Geraldine E. 'Gerri'

Geraldine E. “Gerri” Henderson, 77, of Marion, died Monday, March 4, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by the Rev. Nick Longworth. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include a son, James (Mary) Henderson Jr. of Marion; a daughter, Deborah (Dave) Heck of Marion; two sisters, Darlene (Don) Eiler, and Delores Hobson; two brothers, Cliff (Sherry) Ayers, and Doug (Dorrie) Ayers; three grandchildren, Brad Henderson, Chris Henderson, and Nicole Kimmerle; eight great-grandchildren, Scott, Jessica, Michal, Josh, Breezy, Levi, Lucas, and Reagan; one great-great-grandson, Grayson; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James L. Henderson Sr.; a brother, Darold Ayers; and a sister, Angeline Ayers.

Geraldine was born Nov. 27, 1935, the daughter of Darold and Nellie (Payton) Ayers in Iowa City. On Aug. 18, 1951, she married James L. Henderson in Monticello. He died April 23, 2004. Geraldine was employed at Rockwell Collins for 37 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of Living Water United Methodist Church, IBEW, and the Marion American Legion Post No. 298 Auxiliary.
