Tauke, Robert W.
Robert W. Tauke, 62, of 25184 N. Cascade Rd., Cascade, died Monday, Oct. 17, 2011, at his home in rural Cascade. Friends and relatives of Robert may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesay at the Reiff Funeral Home, Cascade, where a wake service will be held at 4 p.m. Services for Robert will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at St. Martin's Catholic Church, Cascade, with the Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Cascade.
Robert was born Feb. 15, 1949, in Dyersville, Iowa, son of Cletus and Jeanette (Bagge) Tauke. He received his education in the Garnavillo area schools. On Sept. 18, 1971, he was united in marriage to Lois Kluesner at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Worthington, Iowa. He owned and operated Tauke Transfer in Cascade.
He was a member of St. Matthias Parish in Cascade, the Cascade Knights of Columbus-Council #930, Heartland Tractor Pulling Association, Hawkeye Vintage Farm Machinery Association, Iowa Motor Truck Association, OOIDA-Owners-Operators-Independent-Drivers Association and Tri-State Transportation.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Tauke of Cascade; two children, Renee Paylor (Anthony Croom) of Dallas, Texas, and Andy Tauke of Burbank, Calif.; two grandchildren, Antonio Paylor and Trey Croom; his mother, Jeanette Tauke of Dyersville; a sister, Sarah (Sam) Schmelzer of Asbury; brothers and sisters-in-law, Brother Marvin Kluesner of Silver Springs, Md., Sylvester Kluesner Jr. of Dubuque, Rosie (Art) Naber of New Vienna, David (Marilyn) Kluesner of Farley, Dorothy (Gene) Kramer of Worthington, Joyce (Charlie) Urbain of Davenport, Arlene (Dale) Fangmann and Bonnie (George) Heisler, both of Farley, Eugene Kluesner of Miami, Fla., Leo (Julie) Kluesner of Worthington, and Brenda (Dick) Ludwig of Petersburg.
He is preceded in death by his father, Cletus Tauke.
A Robert W. Tauke memorial fund has been established.
