Bus shelters needed in Towncrest

To the editor:
There are no bus shelters on the outbound Towncrest Bus Route in Iowa City, but there are five bus shelters on the inbound Towncrest Bus Route. This is dangerous.
We also need one bus shelter added on the inbound Towncrest Route at Arthur and Wayne avenues because the bus shelter was removed at Louise and William streets and replaced by a bench; with no protection from the elements unless the banks or medical centers are open.
Iowa City Transit says it is cost which prevents bus shelters from being installed. Bus shelters are an investment like improving the downtown area and the south side of Iowa City.
Finally, no matter on which day Fourth of July falls, extended bus service should be provided.
