Atherton-Monroe, Lee
Lee Atherton-Monroe, 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, at St. Ludmila's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
Lee was born May 7, 1927, in Benton County, Iowa, to Herman and Eleanor (Schulte) Kahle.
She is survived by her son, Charles (Kay) Atherton of Monument, Colo.; her grandchildren, Chad Atherton and Kahle Atherton; a sister-in-law, Irene Kahle; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Lee was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Atherton; her parents; brothers, Sylvester, Raphael and Francis Kahle; and her sister, Thelma Serbousek.
