Now is the time to look at a proven record when you're thinking about voting for our representative in Congress.
Take a close look at Pat Murphy's record in the Iowa House of Representatives.
His support is strong on human services, increasing teachers salaries, expanding preschool programs, encouraging renewable energy, supporting agriculture and standing strong to support our veterans.
As speaker of the Iowa House, he kept the vote open on minimum wage discussion for 6 1/2 hours. His first bill raised Iowa's minimum wage to $7.25 before it was even raised in our U.S. Congress. He passed the nation's first equal pay for equal work law and he created a program for senior citizens so they can stay in their homes.
He puts Iowans first. He keeps jobs in Iowa, caps interest rates on college loans and fully funds Pell grants so Iowa students can afford a college education. He will protect Social Security and Medicare benefits for working Iowans who have earned them.
He will accomplish great things as our Democrat representative in Congress.
