John P. Trachta, 61, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, at Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at the Chapel of Memories Stateroom.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
Those left to cherish John's memory and his famous quote, "Every Day is a Beautiful Day," are his wife, Terrie Trachta; daughter, Aimee (Joseph) Heck; son, Adam Trachta and his fiancee, Megan; stepdaughter, Cally (Steve) Moore; stepson, Josh Havlik; stepgrandsons, Tylar and Austin; brothers, Dennis, Tom and Mike; and many friends, as well as his two chocolate Labs, Woody and Charley, and four exotic cats.
