Same-sex marriage is preposterous
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Dec. 17, 2013 1:39 pm
Quoting the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Matt Hunt, pastor at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Keokuk, presides over more than a dozen same-sex marriages a month at his business Boone's Overstock “gay chapel” on Main Street in Keokuk (“Iowa chapel taps into growing gay marriage business,” Nov. 24, Hawk Eye).
Jesus told His disciples: “Have you not read that the one who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,' and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'?” Matthew 19:4-5.
A man does not have eggs. A woman does not have sperm. It is impossible for same-sex couples to be of one flesh. Marriage for same-sex couples is preposterous, it cannot be consummated, it is physically and biologically impossible.
