Jean Anne Peterson, 68, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away surrounded by her loving family Monday, June 1, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Services: 11 a.m. Friday, June 5, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion, conducted by Pastor Joe Kane. Family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 4, at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Dusty Swyers of Cedar Rapids; five children, Coreen (Denny) Clark of Mount Vernon, Iowa, and Brett (Carolyn) Peterson, Brad "Manny" Peterson, Robbie Peterson and Jayson "Jake" (Krista) Swyers, all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Bob Doubek of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Marion (Jeff) Roster of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Cindy (Tom) Hoke of Mount Vernon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Ronald Doubek.
Jean was born on June 28, 1946, in Lansing, Iowa, daughter of Carl and Irma (Sheriff) Doubek. She was married for 40 years to Dusty Swyers. Jean worked at Intermec Technologies as a technician. Everyone who knew her loved her and she was always there for everyone. She loved spending time with her family and her dog, Baron, and cat, Tera. Jean also enjoyed water and their houseboat. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye football fan.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Jean's memory.
