Letter: Many will opt out of health coverage

The Gazette failed to mention why the Congressional Budget Office report on the American Health Care Act says that 24 million people will lose their health coverage. The article insinuated that the mean-spirited GOP would just no longer cover those individuals. The truth be told, Paul Ryan and many others stated recently that more than half of those 24 million individuals will lose their coverage by choice - their own choice. They are expected to opt out of the federal health insurance program of their own accord. With the removal of the 'stick” or individual mandate that the government imposed with the original Obamacare law, citizens are again free to make their own decisions on whether or not to carry health insurance.
The Gazette readers should be given all of the facts, so they may make informed decisions. Not just the facts that prove a preconceived narrative.
