DeLarm, Marjorie K.
Marjorie K. DeLarm, 48, of Delmar, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 2, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Delmar, with the Rev. David Brownfield officiating. Friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Lahey Funeral Home in Maquoketa, where a vigil service will be held at 6:30 p. m. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Delmar.
Marjorie Kay Cavanagh was born Nov. 10, 1963, in Maquoketa, Iowa, daughter of Bill and Terese (Hughes) Cavanagh. She graduated from Delwood High School in 1982. She married Dale DeLarm on Sept. 21, 1985, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Delmar. Marjorie enjoyed working at Wendling Quarries for 13 years, keeping her drivers on the right track, always Marge in charge.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Delmar. Marjorie loved scrapbooking, reading, crafts, pontoon rides, jewelry, Black Friday shopping and baking. Most of all, she loved her family and to make people smile. She was looking forward to her first grandchild.
She is survived by her husband, Dale DeLarm of Delmar; three children, Mark (Andrea) DeLarm of North Liberty, Mary DeLarm of Iowa City and Melanie DeLarm of Cedar Rapids; her mother, Terese Cavanagh of Delmar; nine sisters and brothers, Deb (Tim) Maier of Dubuque, Joe (Jeanette) Cavanagh of Delmar, Joyce (Ron) Paulsen of Elwood, Betty (Steve) Diedrich and Marty (Laura) Cavanagh, both of DeWitt, Peggy (Pat “Oats”) Trenkamp of Preston, Marcy (Dan) Fox of Rowley, Vicki (Ed) Kennedy of Springfield, Ill., and Ray (Kate) Cavanagh of Delmar; a special sister, Tricia Filloon of DeWitt; and was a favorite aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by her father- and mother-in-law, Jerry and Freda DeLarm of Monmouth; brother-in-law, Gary (Pam) DeLarm of Maquoketa; and sister-in-law, Kathleen (John) Martin of Bernard.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bill in 1998.
