Consuela "Connie" Margaret Conway, 90, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016, at Hiawatha Care Center, Hiawatha. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion, with a rosary service at 7 p.m. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, conducted by the Rev. Steve Garner. Entombment: Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, John (Wanda) Conway of Grimes, Mary (Tom) Victor of Omaha, Neb., James (Lori) Conway of Cedar Rapids and William Conway of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Nicholas (Cassy) Conway, Jodi (Chad) McDaniel, Julie (Matt) Moore, Christopher (Jenny) Victor, Timothy (Meg) Victor, Megan (David) McEnaney, Patrick (Jessie) Conway, Colleen (Jeffrey) Salomon, Daniel (Renae) Conway and James (Tina) Conway; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Corine Pavich of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother, Thomas (Katie) Kregel of Fort Dodge; and several nieces and nephews.
Connie was born Feb. 1, 1926, in Guttenberg, Iowa, the daughter of John and Marguerite (Nigg) Kregel. She graduated from Mount Mercy College with a lab technician degree. She retired from Mercy Medical Center, where she worked 37 years as a lab technician and supervisor.
Connie was a loving, caring and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her.
