To the editor:
I became acquainted with Allen Witt several years ago.
Subsequently, he became president of Downtown Rotary and also began teaching construction technology to high school students at Kirkwood's Linn County Regional Center.
His mix of volunteer and public service involvements give him a unique 'window” on the community; something that makes him an ideal person for serving on the Cedar Rapids School Board. Working directly with students is an added plus; it provides him with a special insight into their needs.
Our school system, at all levels, is functioning extremely well and the board did a masterful job of securing Dr. Brad Buck as our new superintendent.
For all these reasons I believe Witt deserves re-election on Tuesday.
