Letter: Incredible effort to save our city

Cedar Rapids should be proud of what it has done to protect its city during the second highest flood crest within eight years.
The corps and the politicians should take a second look at how Cedar Rapidians can come together and put out such an effort to save our city. City workers and contractors worked hand-in-hand. The many volunteers that helped keep the river within the fortified dike was exceptional. The volunteers that helped homeowners were outstanding.
I'm so proud to say that we are an All-American city. The country should take notice and see how a city in Iowa can come together and save our proud city. Now it's the federal government's turn to help out to combat the Cedar River to stay within its banks.
Thanks again to all the city workers, contractors and volunteers.
