PAUL SCOTT
Cedar Rapids
Paul E. Scott died suddenly at his home Aug. 25, 2015.
Born Jan. 13, 1965, Paul grew up and lived most of his working life in Cedar Rapids. He graduated from Kennedy High School in 1983 and attended Cornell College in Mount Vernon, playing a little football for the Rams.
Paul took roots in Lake Tahoe, Nev., and Flagstaff, Ariz., attending NAU, and enjoying the beauty of those areas before moving back to Cedar Rapids.
He worked for various small companies in the area until 1998, when he started working for Proctor & Gamble in Iowa City. Paul began on the factory line and worked his way up to quality assurance inspector.
He was well-liked at work and was a favorite uncle to many of his nieces and nephew.
A bachelor by choice, Paul enjoyed the great outdoors (camping, fishing and scuba diving), and the wind in his face (motorcycles, amusement parks and traveling).
He didn't always have a lot to say, but he could light up a room with his hearty laugh and big smile.
Paul will be missed by all of us.
Surviving are his sisters, Peggy Wegler (Torsten) of London, England, Allison Nims (Greg) of Des Moines and Mary Groat (Darold) of Littleton, Colo.; his brother, Jeff Scott (Shannon) of Overland Park, Kan.; nieces, Heather, Bevin, Michelle, Christine, Carina and Angela; nephew, Patrick; and three grandnephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Evelyn Scott.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids.
