Don’t let killer determine flag’s meaning

To the editor:
In reference to the incident in Charleston, S.C.
It's just a shame that one killer can control the United States, its government and its people. To me the Confederate flag reminds me of 'The Dukes of Hazard.” In no way do I condone the killings, but don't let a symbol such as the Confederate flag (in the way the killer used it) determine its meaning.
Do we stop watching 'The Dukes of Hazard” or not drive an orange Dodge Charger with the Confederate flag on it because of one misguided person? Also, if we are expected to live as lambs, we cannot do it among lions.
