CAROL ANDERSEN Cedar Rapids Carol Yvonne Andersen, 77, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Sept. 19, 2014, in Casa Grande, Ariz. Mrs. Andersen was born Dec. 26, 1936, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Paul and Leona (Turner) Lewis. She married Glen Andersen on Feb. 10, 1957, in Cedar Rapids. She moved to Casa Grande in November 2008 to be closer to her daughter and family. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Carol had a true love for her animals, especially the family cat, who stayed at her side until death. Memorial donations may be made to the Cedar Valley Humane Society. Survivors include her two daughters, Sheryl Benning of Casa Grande and Julie Andersen of Hiawatha; son-in-law, Tom Benning of Casa Grande; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Paul E. Lewis of Fresno, Calif., and Robert Lewis of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glen Andersen; son, Kevin Andersen; daughter, Laurie Lanning; and sister, Betty Lewis Andersen. A Celebration of Life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
