Rep. Blum quick to respond to inquiries

I read Duane Eldred's Jan. 23 letter on 'Rep. Blum's office difficult to reach” with a bit of skepticism. I have called or emailed Congressman Rod Blum's Cedar Rapids office in a few instances over the years and always have received a return call or follow up email. So I decided to test out Eldred's charge myself.
I called the Cedar Rapids office and Cindy from the Dubuque office answered. She explained that the offices are all linked. If one is busy it automatically forwards to another one. I was told that the most likely scenario of delayed response is if someone called after everyone was out of the office.
Also last year I contacted Congressman Blum's office the night I found out Rockwell was bought. I was concerned about what that might mean for Eastern Iowa. Within a day a received not just a reply but confirmation picture that Congressman Blum and Sen. Chuck Grassley had been on the phone with the UTC CEO to connect with them about wonderful Iowa workers.
If you want representation then Congressman Blum is the one for you.
