Please vote Sept. 12 to pass the ICCSD general obligation bond, and choose school board members who will help lead our district on a path of continual improvement and strive to make sure every child succeeds.
I am voting for Shawn Eyestone for the two-year board seat and encourage you to give him your support.
Shawn has been actively involved in our school district for 10 years and served as a Parent Teacher Organization board member and representative at the elementary and secondary levels. He has been a board member and representative for the Districtwide Parents Organization (DPO) for 7 years. He has also served on school district committees and attended board meetings frequently. This involvement has made him well-informed of the many issues the district faces. He is committed to improving the district to meet the varied needs of students and facilities throughout the entire district. Shawn supports the passage of the bond.
I was fortunate to serve on the DPO board with Shawn and this allowed me to observe his commitment to our district and his leadership abilities. He is committed to improving communication with district teachers, students, and parents and between board members. Shawn is a good listener who considers all sides before making decisions. Shawn understands the school board needs to collaborate, effectively communicate and increase transparency to keep moving our district forward.
