Arlene (Schave) LeMense died at Cottage Grove Place on Feb. 27, 2015, from complications of glioblastoma brain cancer. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Saturday, March 7, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Hiawatha by Father Mark Ressler. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at Murdoch Funeral Home in Marion on Friday, March 6. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery (Chapel Garden), Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Neale LeMense; four sons, Todd (Karen) LeMense and daughter Regina, Mark (Wendy) LeMense and son Trevor, Joel (Paula) LeMense and son Zachary and Chad (Contessa) LeMense and daughters Kathrine and Kristine. Surviving siblings are Janet Klawes (Larry), Karen King, David Schaffe and Roger Schave.
Arlene was born Aug. 24, 1942, in Hebron, Ill., the daughter of Harvey and Charlotte (Witt) Schave, and was raised in Janesville, Wis. She graduated from Craig High School in 1961. Arlene married Neale LeMense on Sept. 1, 1962, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Janesville.
Arlene was a home-maker and an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed doing many crafts, especially counted cross-stitch. She loved entertaining with formal tea parties using her cherished dishes. Arlene was a charter member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Hiawatha, where she was a volunteer money counter for many years.
