Iowa ranked third in the top 10 states for young adults starting their careers by the website Moneyrates.com.
Low auto insurance premiums in the 20-24 age bracket was a favorable factor for Iowa, which ranked third. The web site also pointed to a "very high number of fitness clubs and top-rated bars relative to its population."
The web site listed North Dakota highest, based largely on its booming economy that provides plenty of job opportunities. South Dakota was ranked second based on its strong economy and favorable lifestyle factors.
Nebraska did not score particularly well in the lifestyle category, but made up for it by having ample job opportunities for young workers, low rents and low education costs. It was ranked fifth, just behind Montana.
