Fresh, Joe D.
Joe D. Fresh, 77, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. A celebration of Joe's life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.
Joe was born Oct. 12, 1936, in Bloomfield, Iowa, the son of Curtis “Joe” and Phyllis Foster Fresh. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954–1956. On Dec. 30, 2003, he married Bonnie Lynn Daugherty. Joe worked 35 years for Rockwell Collins and was a member of IBEW No. 1362.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; children, Denise Fresh and Curtis Fresh, both of Aurora, Colo.; stepdaughters, Ann (Mike Smith) Sharp and Kaye (Kevin) Reynolds, both of Olin; and sisters, Sally Lindstrom and Judy (Denny) O'Hara, both of Des Moines, and Jane Stevenson of Bloomfield.
Also surviving are his sisters-in-law, Connie (Stan) Garringer and Sharon (Jeff) McCarville, both of Cedar Rapids; and a brother-in-law, Bill (Beth) Daugherty of Park Rapids, Minn.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren, Tim Bascom and Dakota Fresh; and brothers-in-law, Ken Lindstrom and Bruce Bogle.
