Gary Raymond Clark, 73, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 3, 2016, after a long illness.
Gary was born May 10, 1942, in Marion, Iowa, to Maynard and Alice (Bader) Clark. He graduated from Marion High School and attended Kirkwood and Mount Mercy College. Gary married Diane Huerter on Aug. 8, 1981, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church. He was a dedicated husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He worked at Lefebure Corporation for more than 29 years.
One of his favorite hobbies was photography, his favorite subject was his family. Gary enjoyed spending time with his family, attending school and sporting events for his children and grandchildren and tinkering on his computers. He loved his square dance calling with the Belles & Beaus Square Dance Club. He was an assistant scout leader and volunteered for the Jefferson Booster Club in the concession stand at Kingston Stadium during football season. His infectious laugh, smile and love for people will be remembered by everyone who had the great fortune of meeting him.
Gary is survived by his wife of 35 years, Diane; children, Gregory Clark (Kimberlee) of Iowa City, Shelly Davidson of Hiawatha, Carrie Moad (Richard) of Missouri and Shawn Kelley (Devin) of Great Falls, Mont.; 10 grandchildren, Braeden, Elizabeth, Justin, Valarie, William, Cassie, Kristi, Jasmine, HannaMae and Alton; one great-grandchild, Aaliyah Jo; his brother, Jerry Clark (Renee) of Long Beach, Calif.; and sister, Nancy Findlay of Marion. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Maynard and Alice Clark; and a great-granddaughter, Abbigale Jo.
Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 8, at Teahen Funeral Home, 3100 F Ave. NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405; and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church. Funeral service: 10 a.m. Saturday, April 9, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. Pastor Trish Decker will officiate. Burial to follow at Linwood Cemetery.

Gary's family would like to thank his health care team, especially Dr. Kenneth Cearlock and nurse Lee for all the care and diligence they took in providing him the best possible treatment during this time in his life. Diane would also like to thank his sister, Nancy, for all the love and support in visiting and taking Gary to Milestones, lab work and cappuccino runs. Thanks to Cassie for her assistance in the care of Gary so we could keep him at home with us. We are grateful to the kindness and assistance of the hospice staff at home and the hospital along with Connie and Melissa from To The Rescue. You all helped his last days to be peaceful and without pain. Forever grateful.
