Twedt-Ball to serve as interim president, CEO of Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation

CEDAR RAPIDS - Karla Twedt-Ball will serve as interim president and CEO of the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation (GCRCF) while the group seeks a permanent replacement for Dan Baldwin, leaving in March.
The GCRCF board announced the appointment of Twedt-Ball, the foundation's vice president, on Tuesday.
“Karla is an excellent choice to lead us during this period of transition,” said Ron Olson, GCRCF board chair. “Karla will focus on leading the community foundation, while continuing to oversee our grant programs,” added Olson.
Twedt-Ball will be interim president until the board hires a permanent president. She'll report to the board of directors and chair the operations committee as called for in the GCRCF CEO succession plan.
Twedt-Ball, 35, joined the GCRCF three years ago as the director of programs, Before that she was executive director of Churches United in Cedar Rapids. She is an Iowa native and received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Iowa and a Master of Public Policy at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs. She is a 2008 graduate of Leadership for Five Seasons and is a founding member of the Linn Area Long Term Recovery Coalition.
Baldwin, 52, announced Dec. 17 he will resign March 5 to become president and CEO of the Community Foundation for Monterey County in Monterey, Calif., foundation board Chairwoman Lorna Barnes announced Thursday.
