Larry M. Bockenstedt, 57, of Dyersville, formerly of Ogden, passed away Friday, Oct. 7, 2016. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave. SW, Dyersville. Visitation will continue from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery in New Vienna.
Larry was born June 7, 1959, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Martin and Virgene (Vaske) Bockenstedt. He graduated from Beckman High School with the Class of 1977. He was the owner/operator of Tri-State Bowling Supply and recently became a real estate agent with Exit Realty. He was a student pilot, hobby farmer and enjoyed restoration projects. He enjoyed riding his Harleys and horses.
Survivors include his four children, Tricia (Justin) Suarez of Coralville, Travis (Allison) Bockenstedt of Wilton, Troy (fiancee Becky Tietz) Bockenstedt of North Liberty and Trent (fiancee McKenzie Loeffelholz) Bockenstedt of Marion; one grandchild, Emery Bockenstedt; his mother, Virgene (friend Roger Bries) Bockenstedt of Dyersville; his friend, Lora L. Ahrens Olerich of Boone; his sister, Connie (Jon) Gentry of Cedar Rapids; and the mother of his children, Luetta Bockenstedt.
He was preceded in death by his father, Martin Bockenstedt, in 2003.
Memorials are preferred.
