3 Stormin' Pointers named to Wamac first team

Center Point-Urbana earned three first-team selections on the Wamac Conference West Division girls' basketball team, released Wednesday night by the league.
Senior Arika Wooldridge and sophomores Allie Wooldridge and Olivia Brecht were on the first unit.
The Stormin' Pointers shared the West Division title with Marion. Mia Laube and Chloe Rice represent the Indians on the first team.
Undefeated Western Dubuque, the top-ranked team in Class 4A, has two first-teamers in the East Division — UNI recruit Megan Maahs and Morgan Pitz. Mount Vernon also has a pair of first-teamers in Kaitlyn Volesky and Libby Ryan.
Western Dubuque and Marion and Class 4A state qualifiers. CPU and Mount Vernon qualified in 3A.
Corby Laube of Marion and Amy Ostwinkle of Western Dubuque are the divisional coaches of the year.
