Seed Savers Exchange in Decorah, one of my favorite places to visit as a gardener, sent the following about an upcoming workshop:
If you're a gardener, springtime means one thing: time to start your seeds! Seed Savers Exchange (SSE) will host a seed starting workshop at Heritage farm on Saturday, March 24. Each attendee will go home with one tray of starts and everything they need to know to grow the seeds into healthy plants. Attendees will also have the opportunity to swap seeds, so bring those family heirlooms to share. Join fellow gardeners to learn how to reduce costs and increase diversity in your garden this season by starting plants from seed!
“Starting seeds is one of the first signs of spring here at Heritage Farm,” says SSE Public Programs Manager Shannon Carmody. “We're excited to celebrate the season by offering this program to the community.”

Seed Savers Exchange (SSE), is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and sharing heirloom seeds. Since 1975, our members have been passing on our garden heritage by collecting and distributing thousands of samples of rare garden seeds to other gardeners. Located at 890-acre Heritage Farm, six miles north of Decorah, Iowa, SSE is open to the public from March 1 through December 23.
