(AP) - A search team has removed the bodies of two people from the wreckage of a small plane that crashed in the southern Colorado mountains.
Bob Pruiksma of Custer County Search and Rescue said the pilot and passenger have been identified as Dr. Michael Welton, 66, and Roswitha Marold, a former Waterloo businesswoman.
The six-seat, single-engine Piper Malibu was registered to a Waterloo, Iowa, address.
The plane disappeared over the Sangre de Cristo range on Sunday during a flight from the Phoenix area to Pueblo, Colo. The wreckage was found Monday in deep snow and heavy timber at about 9,700 feet elevation.
