C.R. casino would boost city’s revenue

I don't see the problem of a Cedar Rapids casino doing much, if any, damage to casinos in nearby towns.
Dubuque has two casinos and a population of roughly 58,000, and the casinos are surviving even though there are three in nearby Quad Cities, population 368,000.
I doubt Tama would be hurt. It still has bingo, and it draws from surrounding towns. The same is true of Waterloo.
If we can support a casino in Cedar Rapids with our own residents, so be it. This city can use the benefits it would bring to help recover from 2008.
Riverside has offered to share only a small percentage of its profits with Cedar Rapids even though we spend our money at their casino.
I hope the board approves a casino for Cedar Rapids. We can use the revenue for our own city.
