To the editor:
On Nov. 3, Marion will elect a new mayor. All three candidates are friends of mine and all have had experience in Marion government.
After much review, I have chosen to support Nick AbouAssaly for mayor. He is enthusiastic about Marion and its future. He has demonstrated leadership ability in numerous civic organizations and the city council. He is fiscally conservative yet understands the need to be forward-thinking in investing in long-term projects. He is experienced at negotiating and finding consensus on complex issues. He is dedicated to maintaining high standards of service to the citizens of our community and keeping it the best place to live and do business.
As one who has had the honor of serving as mayor of Marion I take voting very seriously. I respectfully ask the citizens of Marion to join me in voting for AbouAssaly for mayor.
