CEDAR RAPIDS - Gunshots were fired outside of a Cedar Rapids liquor store early Saturday morning, and one bullet entered the business, police said.
No one was hurt in the incident early Saturday morning outside of Uptown Liquor, 2000 Wiley Blvd. SW. Police later arrested the man identified as the shooter and recovered a handgun.
Officers responded around 1:10 a.m. to the liquor store after four to six gunshots were reported. Investigators determined one group of three people was arguing with two other people in front of the store. According to the report, one man in the group of three pulled a handgun and fired at the two other subjects.
Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said a bullet went through the front window of the business and struck a beverage cooler. No one inside was harmed, but damage was estimated at $2,000.
Police recovered shell casings and found a .380-caliber semi-automatic handgun under a tree.
Hamblin said independent witnesses identified Jordan Honn, 18, of Cedar Rapids as the shooter. He was arrested on suspicion of intimidation with a dangerous weapon, carrying weapons and second-degree criminal mischief.
Honn was transported to the Linn County Jail. An investigation was continuing.
