SUSAN KAY SZUMITA
Layton, Utah
Susan Kay Szumita passed away on Monday, Jan. 22, 2018, at Davis Medical Center in Layton, Utah.
She was born on July 6, 1949, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Harold and Patricia Stoker.
She worked at Alliant Energy from June 1998 until she retired in 2014.
She was very organized, precise, and driven in her work life, which extended into her retirement.
She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, sitting on the porch reading or crocheting and engaging in good ol' fashioned girl talk.
She loved life and all those whom she encountered along the way.
Surviving are her mother, Patricia Ougheltree of Washington; sister, Sally Stoker of Washington; brother, Jeff Stoker of Iowa; and three sons, Jason (Lisa) Szumita of Utah, Michael (Sarah) Szumita of Iowa and David Szumita of Iowa. She had eight grandchildren that she loved dearly!
She was preceded in death by her "Pop," Robert Ougheltree; and her sister, Sharon Schuler.
