A Coralville man was arrested Tuesday night after police responded to a reported stabbing.
Police arrested Aristeal E. Bennett, 50, of 914 20th Ave. No. 4, on suspicion of willful injury causing bodily injury.
Officers were called to Bennett's home around 8 p.m. Tuesday, and found a man with a stab wound to his back who was being treated by two bystanders.
Bennett told officers the man pushed his way into his apartment and assaulted him. Bennett said he then grabbed a knife and stabbed the victim, and told officers he “would do it again.”
Willful injury causing bodily injury is a Class D felony, punishable by a maximum prison term of five years and a fine of up to $7,500.
Bennett was being held in the Johnson County Jail Wednesday on a $15,000 bond.
