Jon William Hancock, 74, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015, at his home with his wife and daughter by his side. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Keota Cemetery, Keota, Iowa. Arrangements made by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Jon was born Feb. 20, 1941, to Thelma and Raymond Hancock in Davenport, Iowa. He married Linda Reynolds
on Aug. 11, 1960. They had three children, Raymond
of Des Moines, Roxann (Rick) Mason of Gilbert, Ariz., and Ronald of Portsmouth, Va.
Jon served 26 years in the Navy and retired as a master chief. He married Amy Cufr on April 15, 1977. Jon worked for Simpson Equipment Corp. in Virginia Beach for 10 years. He enjoyed going on Caribbean Cruises beginning in 1992, for a total of 19 years.
He is survived by his wife, three children, four brothers, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Hancock and Thelma Evans Hancock Gallardo.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the American Cancer Society.
