Walter Leroy Blackburn, 80, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, April 23, 2017, at Sunrise Hill Care & Rehab Center in Traer.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 29, at Zion Lutheran Church in Dysart, with Pastor James Radatz officiating. Interment will be held at Dysart Cemetery, with graveside military rites conducted by the Myers-Gordy-Pippert American Legion Post 335 of Dysart and Iowa military funeral honors. Visitation will be held at the church in Dysart from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday.
