Slater, Kirk D.
Kirk D. SlaterKirk D. Slater, 55, of North Port, Florida and formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Nov. 10, 2010 in Hospice in Charlotte Regional Medical Center, Punta Gorda, Florida.
A Celebration of Life potluck benefit will be held at American Legion Post 298, 625 31st St., Marion, Iowa from 3 to 8 p.m. Dec. 11, 2010. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
Survivors include his wife, Joy K. Slater; children, Brad (Sara) Slater, Dustin (Erin) Slater and Shannon (Jamie) Witham, all of Cedar Rapids; sister, Kim Uhlig, Florida; and nine grandchildren, Prestin, Kylee, Maxwell, Jackson, Douglas, Caden, Daisy, Lorelei and Corbin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Shirley Slater
Kirk was born May 10, 1955 in Des Moines, Iowa. He was a loving father and enjoyed fishing and hunting any chance he got. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
