Wine, dine and meet romance authors at Fireside Winery

Fill your bookshelves in anticipation of a long winter of reading at a multi-author event at Fireside Winery on Sept. 28.
Meet multiple authors, purchase books and get author autographs, wine and dine and listen to live music from 1 to 5 p.m.
Author and Marengo resident Grace Augustine was inspired to organize the event after a fellow author told her about a similar event she attended in Texas.
'It's a great opportunity to showcase our beautiful local winery as well as some local and national authors,” Augustine says.
Fireside will offer light appetizers as well as wine by the glass or bottle for purchase. Sample wine and books all while listening to acoustic guitar music by Billy Heller. This event will be held rain or shine.
'I was excited to try something new and different. Having Grace willing to coordinate the author piece made it easier on our end,” says Cassie Bott, the winerie's event coordinator.
Joanne Jaytanie and Kim Law will kickoff the event at 1 p.m. with a brief talk about their journeys as authors.
Jaytanie is a romance author from the state of Washington. A member of the Romance Writers of America and current president of the Peninsula Romance Writers, Jaytanie's books feature paranormal and romantic suspense storylines.
Tennessee author Law writes women's contemporary romance.
In addition to Augustine, who has written two books in the romance genre for the over 50 age group, Iowa authors attending include romance writer Kathryn Daugherty of Pella and Phillip Hall of Marengo, who writes mystery and suspense novels.
Lori Lebda and Tami Bergeson of the Tama/Toledo area will share their young adult and quiz books.
Wendy Siefken and her son Charles of Newton will bring their young adult fantasy books, and children's author Andy Allen, a kindergarten teacher from Cedar Rapids, will bring his book 'Stormin Norman.”
