An Iowa City woman has been charged with using her 6-year-old daughter to help with a heroin transaction.
Lacrecia J. White, 33, of 1217 Burns Ave., is charged with using a minor in drug trade, child endangerment (no injury) and a felony controlled substance violation.
White took her daughter with her to conduct a heroin deal at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Burger King on First Avenue in Coralville, police reported. She told the girl to go into the restaurant and tell a person to come out to the car, where White was waiting with 1 gram of heroin, police said.
The person who bought the drugs for $200 was a confidential informant working with police. White also had her daughter in the car while she sold the drugs, police said.
White faces two Class C felonies, each of which carries a maximum 10 years in prison and $10,000 fine, as well as an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by up to two years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
She is being held in the Johnson County Jail on $22,500 bond.
