Some advice for ‘Paving for Progress’

I was excited to see all of the summer street projects. I'm sure they will be great when completed ('Paving for Progress: See what roads are on the list for Cedar Rapids,” March 15).
It would be appreciated by many of us car-reliant Cedar Rapidians for the city to consider the following suggestions:
1. Visitors to our town may not know 'an alternate route” when they suddenly come upon a 'Road Closed” sign. Reasonable detour directives are appreciated.
2. Those who do live here and know one or two alternate routes would appreciate at least one of those remaining open.
3. Don't start a job if you don't have the manpower to complete it in a timely fashion. It would be my guess that the city would not be satisfied if they were on the receiving end of a stalled construction project that resulted in prolonged inconvenience and disruption.
Any chance of fixing the bottom of Green Valley Terrace while doing Broadlawn? Thanks and I look forward to the improvements.
