Joyce Elaine Stewart, 81, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, in St. Luke's Hospital. A Celebration of Life service will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Community Savings Bank Community Center at 101 Robins Square, Robins. Inurnment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her children, Murray Delbert (Patti) Witham of Cedar Rapids, Dennis (Karen) Witham of Tennessee, Debra (John) Ness of Cedar Rapids, Rick (Carrie) Witham of Central City, Connie (Ken) Huber of Cedar Rapids, Scott (Maryellen) Witham of Robins, Daren (Tracie) Witham of Vinton and Stacy (Thomas) Craft of Iowa City. Also surviving is a sister, Mary (Bernie) Cejka of Hiawatha; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Longfellow of Marengo; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Danny Stewart; brothers, Murray Harlan Longfellow Jr. and Edward Longfellow; infant sisters, Charlotte Evelyn and Grace Delores; and four grandchildren.
Joyce was born June 23, 1935, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Murray and Grace (Vanvelkenburg) Longfellow Sr. Joyce was a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting and playing cards and dice games.
The family would like to thank the staff at Northbrook Manor Care Center for her great care and friendship.
