Northey: No update on USDA nomination
NEVADA - Speaking to reporters Friday, Iowa Agriculture Secretary Bill Northey said he has not heard an update on his nomination to the USDA.
'I'll just work away as Iowa's Secretary of Ag until I get a phone call,” Northey said.
Northey's nomination to a USDA post still is in limbo. U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas has put a hold on the nomination until he gets a meeting with President Donald Trump about the Renewable Fuel Standard.
Trump has agreed to such a meeting, Reuters reported Friday.
Cruz's office did not respond this week when asked about the status of the hold.
