E.G. "CHARLIE" KOLKMEIER

E.G. "Charlie" Kolkmeier lived a life filled with happiness, adventure and dancing. On Dec. 30, 2018, the music stopped and Charlie's dance on Earth ended. He was born March 7, 1935, in St. Charles, Mo., to Elmer and Beulah Kolkmeier. He earned a BS in aeronautical engineering from the University of Illinois. Charlie and his first wife (Bette Riley) had four children. For the next 62 years, Charlie never met a stranger, nor had a day without a smile on his face. Whether he was starting his own business (Kel-Tor Paint), inventing the next greatest Christmas toy for his children, building his own airplane, skiing the slopes of Colorado, hitting a lob on the court or traveling the country in the "War Wagon," Charlie approached all things with the same energy and gusto.

Charlie utilized his genuine ability to connect with others, as a sales rep in specialty advertising. Working alongside his in-laws, he helped to build their company (Impact Sales). During the past 25 years, Charlie was one of the top sales reps at Banker's Advertising Co. His creativity and dedication to customer service ensured his client's needs were always met.

In 1985, Charlie met, fell in love with and married the love of his life, Carol Malcolm. Together they savored every moment; hosting piano recitals, dancing the night away at the Lighthouse and traveling the world were just some of the joys they shared.

Charlie is survived by his older brothers, Ken (Babs) Kolkmeier and Don Kolkmeier; his children, Kelle (Dan), Torre, Kip (Barb) and Cam; his step-children, Scott (Mary), Melissa (Kent), Judd (Kendra) and Rod (Tracey); as well as 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

To all who knew and loved Charlie, raise a glass in 2019 in his honor. A private family service was held.
