Nachtman, Linda Kate 'Lynne'
CEDAR RAPIDS - Linda Kate “Lynne” Nachtman, 65, of Cedar Rapids, died suddenly on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids.
She was born Jan. 8, 1945, in Wellington, Texas, the daughter of James and Ruby (Deviney) Mitchell. Lynne was raised by her mother and grandparents, Earl and Blanche Mitchell, while her stepfather was in the military. She was a 1963 graduate of Lawton, Okla., High School.
On Aug. 12, 1965, Lynne was united in marriage to Harold Nachtman in Lawton, Okla. Two children were born to this union. Together they farmed near Ryan until 1993, when they moved to Cedar Rapids. Lynne assisted with food service at Linn-Mar Community School.
Lynne was a member of St. Pius X Church in Cedar Rapids, American Legion Auxiliary, and a past member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ryan. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and being with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Nachtman of Cedar Rapids; two children, Chuck (Pam) Nachtman of North English and Michelle Nachtman of Waterloo; two grandchildren, Bradley and Brian Nachtman; and two stepbrothers, Alfred “Bud” Mitchell and Bill Youngblood, both of Texas.
Lynne was preceded in death by her parents; and her special grandparents, Earl and Blanche Mitchell.

Mass of Resurrection: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ryan. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Monday at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home & Crematory in Manchester, where a 4 p.m. Scripture Service will take place, and one hour before services at the church on Tuesday. Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Ryan.
